A Delhi doctor for Lucknow families weighing options
Dr. Sunita Singh Rathore, Gynecologist and IVF Specialist, Delhi Medical Council Reg. No. 18257.
Dr. Sunita Singh Rathore can review your Lucknow reports on WhatsApp before anyone in the family books a ticket. If you go ahead, treatment takes place at our clinic in Delhi.
Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh, and couples there have IVF clinics to choose from. Surrogacy is a narrower field. Before a clinic can carry out surrogacy, it must hold a surrogacy registration as well as its ART (IVF) registration.
In the part of the national registry list we reviewed on 27 October 2026, we did not find a surrogacy clinic with a Lucknow address. That is a snapshot, not a final word. Entries are added and renewed, and a clinic may be listed under a slightly different address.
So the first step for a Lucknow family is simple: open the registry, search, and only then compare clinics.
Search the live registry for Lucknow
New registrations are added over time, so a Lucknow clinic may appear after our last check. Search for Lucknow and for Uttar Pradesh, then match any clinic's certificate number with the list. Open the list of registered surrogacy clinics.
Experiences shared by other families
-
Shalini and Deepak travelled from Kolkata to Delhi for treatment. One coordinator kept a single checklist for their travel, certificates, IVF and delivery, so they always knew the next step.

Gurpreet and Mandeep came to Delhi from Chandigarh. They wanted a team that understood the Surrogacy Act, and careful screening of the surrogate and a complete legal file mattered most to them.

What "none found" means, and what it does not
It means we could not match a surrogacy registration to a Lucknow address in the section we reviewed. It does not mean Lucknow has no fertility clinics, and it does not rule out a listing we missed.
Search the registry for both "Lucknow" and "Uttar Pradesh". Make sure you are reading the surrogacy clinic list, not the ART clinic list. An ART number alone does not cover surrogacy.
If a Lucknow clinic tells you it offers surrogacy, ask to see its surrogacy certificate. Then match the name and number on the registry list yourself.
Questions to settle before the family commits
Write the answers down, so everyone at home sees the same facts. A registered surrogacy hospital should answer each one plainly.
- What is your surrogacy clinic registration number, and may we see the certificate?
- Which doctor plans and supervises our treatment from start to finish?
- Can we have an itemised written estimate, split into package, extras and legal-process costs?
- How many embryo transfers does the quote cover? The legal limit is three attempts per surrogate.
- Is the surrogate's 36-month insurance in the estimate, and who buys the policy?
- Which tests can we do at a lab in Lucknow, and how do you review them?
A clinic in Uttar Pradesh or a clinic in Delhi
Both routes are legal, so the choice is practical. Weigh three things: travel, choice of doctor and how much support you have at home.
A clinic close to Lucknow means fewer train journeys and family nearby on procedure days. A Delhi clinic means 3 to 5 trips and a few nights away, but a wider pool of registered clinics to compare. From Lucknow, Delhi is about an hour by air or 6 to 7 hours by Shatabdi or Tejas.
Whichever you pick, the certificates are issued through the board and authority for the state where you live or work. The process and certificates page explains the order of steps.
When a relative recommends a clinic
In a joint family, suggestions arrive from many directions. A cousin's clinic or a neighbour's doctor may be excellent for IVF, yet not registered for surrogacy.
Thank them, note the name, and run the same registry search you would for any other clinic. If the surrogacy registration is there, add the clinic to your shortlist. If it is not, the clinic cannot legally take on your surrogacy, however good its IVF work.
This keeps the decision about facts rather than about whose suggestion wins. It also gives elders a clear reason, from the law itself, when a recommended clinic is set aside.
The best way to choose: three checks in order
Start with legality, then the doctor, then the money. A low quote from a clinic without surrogacy registration is of no use to you.
First, the register. Confirm the surrogacy registration on the national list. Second, the plan. Meet or speak to the doctor, and ask how your own reports change the plan. Third, the estimate. Compare written figures line by line, adding travel from Lucknow where it applies.
You can also check whether you qualify before speaking to any clinic, using our eligibility guide.
